NSW LearnScope Kicks Off
Feb 1st, 2007 by admin
Today I visited Hunter Workways with LearnScope National Manager, Donna Hensley to conduct and present to a range of registered training organisations representatives.
Thanks to Janelle Hollis our state visits have kicked off with avid discussions and questioning of Australian Flexible Learning Framework promotions presentations with respect to all projects funded by the Framework in 2007.
A number of the participants today have not had contact with the Framework nor have heard of projects such as NSW LearnScope. A number of individuals also from this group approached me today and asked why these presentations are being conducted in TAFE NSW and non-TAFE NSW locations seperately when project funding is competitively awarded to all RTOs statewide.
Donna and I gave an overview of the changes to NSW LearnScope in 2007 and alluded to the challenges facing our state teams as they engage with their educators and clients alike. We also gave our share of knowledge to those seeking information on other Framework projects from Indigenous Engagement through to Networks.
It would appear that, in this political climate change, funding cuts are not the only challenges facing our team members as they grapple with utilising and engaging through new and emergent e-learning solutions for clients. We collectively understand that security, intellectual property rights, digital rights management, copyright, privacy and security all factor in the e-learning domain this coming year.
Our challenge follows on from the position that underpins all Framework activities - that of knowledge sharing and open networked learning. Donna and I left our meeting today agreeing on one ( and many others ) point - we must ensure that the breadth and scope of e-learning and web publishing rights of LearnScope team members remain high on the agenda of all Framework communications and that the scope of our engaged contact with LearnScope team members continue to explore and pave the way for e-learning solutions for clients now and in the not too distant future.
The Framework itself ( our funding body ) as we know it may well be in it’s last iteration for now but what of the future for national e-learning, m-learning and u-learning coupled with capability development for the VTE, VET and indeed the TVET sector beyond the here and now? What do you think will be the most productive steps forward to progress the national agenda ? Where do you think we are headed as a Framework ?
Where will the knowledge gained via NSW LearnScope in 2007 play a part in this decision making process ? What is your part in this productive process ?
Alex Hayes
NSW LearnScope
Project Officer.
Hi Alex, just a few lines to thank you again for sharing your project with us this afternoon (morning to you).
I have visited your different sites and this is an excellent example of what e-learning, especially in distant communities, is all about.
Warm regards from a Venezuelan in Toronto taking Bee“s Open webpublishing EVO session,
