Dipping a toe in the e-learning pond …
Aug 1st, 2007 by robynjay
On Friday I’m heading down to Saxons in the city for the Managers in E-Learning team induction day. The Managers team, like the Exploring E-Learning team, are centrally managed by us here at ICVET. This year Val Evans is again facilitating the Managers team, and Viv Evans the Explorers team (mmm must be something about the name!).
Both teams offer participants a chance to dip their toes into the world of e-learning. We provide a broad brush overview to the new and emerging tools, strategies, issues, debates etc. The participants come from all sectors and areas of the State, and that diversity creates a really rich networked learning environment.
It can all feel pretty overwhelming but Viv and Val do a great job to provide enthusiasm and support and a range of really exciting activities and exposure to expertise. The original ’start-up’ team soon became fondly known as the upstarts - for good reason - they made more progress in 10 weeks than many teams made in 6 months!

Check out their progress and outcomes on their project spaces linked from the wiki - Explorers and Managers - and listen to a recording I made with a few members of the Explorers team below.
