Great coffee too and don’t spend too much time around the cakes counter.
The discerning reader will have noticed the popular politic switch from drought conditions shutting off water supplies to Griffith ….over to APEC complete with compulsory public holidays and three metre high walls on the shore of our fair Sydney.
Parking fines included…..something Griffith sees little of. Oh for a life in the country hey ! ?
However, now that we are looking at capability development such mere matters pale in comparison to the enormous wealth of knowledge our teams possess…..partial to good wine and less to pasty economics……..dont you think ?
I’ve always had fond memories of hitch-hiking through Griffith , Hay and onwards across the Nullabor Plains in the eighties. Ten dollars to my name and an immigrant in my own right. Australia’s big enough to accommodate those seeking to escape without leaving our shores some would say.
Griffith for me is about the success of migrant workers who ( with a hard work ethic ) made this country the successful producer that it is. My Father is a prime example of that fact.
Griffith is also proximate to the land which ( as the annals of time would have it ) will be home for me for many years to come. Griffith was a town I’ve visited many times and will continue to do so. A subtle re-connection via NSW LearnScope.
I set out from Ungarie that morning as the other prior post ironically details to meet with the GALA group at ( Griffith Adult Learning Association ) who are part of the bigger picture of things with participants flying in from many rural and not-so-rural locations to hear all about what’s up, what could be up and what’s about to be up. Rather than ramble further, check out the non-chipmunked version of Griffith ALA , 13th August 2007.
I’ll join you in the cafe after we’ve had a chance to listen to the cool things unfolding courtesy of Debbie Littlehales ( who I secretly reckon rocks :-)………..true !
Shout outs to David who ripped out hair and fed us cream biscuits mid-workshop agenda.
